"To Thy Rest" marks my debut as a feature film director, a project born out of necessity and an insatiable creative drive. Over the past few years, I've been involved in various projects, including one in development, “Crash Course,” which requires close to a million euros to produce. However, securing such a budget, especially as a first-time feature filmmaker, has proved an insurmountable challenge in the current climate, where what was once deemed “low-budget” is now considered a “substantial risk.” This led me to realise that I needed to showcase my capabilities using the resources available to me. I had to make my own opportunities, and I did just that."
